Sunny California Destination Wedding at La Jolla Beach

If I could shoot California weddings every weekend I would ! The weather, ocean breeze and palm trees are heaven to me. I feel in my element and I swear pictures ALWAYS turn out amazing on the beach. Especially the La Jolla area, the beaches are so stunning and rocks and cliffs off to the side make for a great backdrop next to the ocean.

The bride, Alaina, picked our spot for bridals up Provo canyon off the Big Springs Hollow Trail during golden hour on a crisp day in August, and they turned out beautiful !

The bride and groom met in California so it was only fitting to have a destination wedding there ! With their families, we headed to La Jolla beach a little after noon and had a simple ceremony. No chairs, no decorations, just sandy toes and clear blue skies surrounded us. After the congratulations and pictures were taken, the bride and groom ran into the ocean to celebrate ! It was so spontaneous and a perfect way to kick off their marriage !

Joe and Alaina had two receptions, one in Draper, Utah in Alaina’s parents backyard, a week before their wedding and a second in California at Mission Bay Park after their ceremony. Both receptions were simple and intimate. With tacos, cotton candy and of course dancing.
